TO HURRY LOSES YOUR TIME AND SENSE OF WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU MUST DO. Haste makes waste. Something I learned, because I would have to do things over again. I have learned to slow down and do what I can do today and worry about tomorrow when it gets here. To do or NOT to do. Who cares. It will be done eventually, OR NOT.

I'm going to answer your question with a series of questions...
Who sets these deadlines, you or someone else?
Do you feel a commitment to meeting the deadlines, or are you responding out of fear of consequences for not meeting someone else's deadline?
What would be the worst that would happen if you didn't meet the deadlines?
What are your values in life? What do you want written on your tombstone, "Always stayed late at the office to meet deadlines?"
Be clear that everything you do and do not do is your choice. Working overtime to meet deadlines is a completely valid personal choice, but it's not the only choice. Take full personal responsibility for each of your choices in life, and do your best to ensure that you create the most joyful life you can.

Decide whether your deadlines are "demands of the world" or "longings of your own heart," and take action accordingly.
Often deadlines DO represent longings of the heart. Preparing a Daily Inspiration message each day, seven days a week, certainly represents a deadline for me, but doing so is very much a longing of my own heart.

valid explanation but then again you dont set the deadline...its the office that builds up the pressure in you...deadlines set by others as far as office work is concerned are out of your control.
Your response to the actions of others is always within your own control. This is true both of how you respond in the physical world, and especially how you respond emotionally.
All one asks of you is that you do your best and whistle while you work. It's really that simple. We tend to try and analyze things when the answer is staring you in the face.
